The daily life on a small farm is often routine but never boring. There are many things to be learned from our interaction with the jacob sheep, angora goats, guardian llamas, honey bees, retired horses, herbs, trees and organic gardens of Foxbriar Farm, high in the Ozark Mountains.
These critters started the fiber craze in our household. We bought the llamas to guard the dairy goats and then plucked a bit of fiber to take to this Taos Wool Festival thing we were covering for a newspaper we worked for. We were told that the fiber was great and that we needed to learn to spin.
Now we have three of the critters: Muppet, Pequeña and the newest addition, Kermit.
Yoda is the most regal of our llamas and he has graciously volunteered to watch over the flock of Jacob sheep and their lambs.
